Co-Opting

2023

For this collection I was looking at the histories and origins of the picnic, the iconic gingham pattern closely associated with it, and the hierarchies society creates for how we interact with nature.

Trying to co-opt the idea of the picnic as a way to continue to nurture our relations to the Landscape through a relationship not so structured or prescribed feeling

As a way of collaboration, I’ve been using found and gifted materials within my works, as well as continuing to think sustainably with more natural materials.

This collection also led to the piece A Vessel to Hold.
